I have just listed 2 homes and a business. One home is a brand new 5 bedroom home with a 2 bedroom legal suite. The second home is a renovated 2 bedroom home. The business is a coffee shop in central Nanaimo "Serious Coffee".
Home prices continue to fall in price showing a $15,000 drop on average since last year. This is only a 4% drop but for those that were used to the prices going up every year it has created some opportunities for first time buyers and investors. While I have been slow since December I have noticed a dramatic increase in both buyer calls and people interested in listing their home. Sales of homes in the last 12 months is down about 11% from last year. Condo sales is also down 16%. Buyers seem to be looking at more before buying because of the increase in inventory.
