Lakeside living at it's best located in North Nanaimo.

Prices have ranged from $207,500- $395,000 with an average price of $280,390 in 2008, 21 units sold.

These units have workshops / clubhouse / gas fireplaces / gym / steps to banking shopping and one of the finest brew pubs anywhere. Longwood was Awarded "Canada's Best Multi-Family Project and city awards for building an environmentally sensitive design. This complex is close to Rutherford mall and Longwood Station. It's great for seniors that want to walk to grocery shopping and the bank.

Longwood Condos, North Nanaimo

Seascape - 2560, 2562 Departure Bay Rd., Central Nanaimo
up to 7 storeys - 106 units - built in

Many of the condos have excellent ocean views. Built in the 80's this was one of the nicest complexes in Nanaimo. Located at 2560 and 2562 Departure Bay Road these apartments are steps to the beach and shopping. Features included in many suites are panoramic view of Departure Bay and the coast mountains, disposal units, dishwashers, wood burning fireplaces, in-suite laundry, Jenn-Air Stoves. (some units may vary).

This complex has parking licences and when you buy a unit it may not include an underground spot.

5 units sold in 2008 between $199,000 and $300,000 with an average of $259,900.

The swimming pool is a feature most complexes do not have.

 

Seascape Manor at Departure Bay

Central Nanaimo

This 28 unit condo building is close to Inner Harbour walkway, ferries & downtown restaurants. Some have ocean views. This building has underground parking.

3 units sold in 2007 between $255,000 and 270,000.
30units sold in 2008 between $199,900 and $275,000.

These attractive waterside condos are in a 75 unit complex. They have nice floor plans (some with views), in suite laundry, secured entrance and underground parking. It is close to shopping and a short walk to downtown.

No sales in 2008.

Underground parking balconies and gas fireplaces are featured here. Right next to Terminal Park shopping centre it is conveniently located. Close to sea wall, liquor store, save on foods etc.

7 units sold in 2008 $194,000 - $224,900.

Framed construction in Central Nanaimo close to the hospital.
These units do not have in suite laundry.

5 units sold in 2008, average price $136,000.
Price range $110,000 to 156,500.

Condos close to hosptal (central Nanaimo)

The Fountains - 1633 Dufferin Crescent

Built in 2005, there are 53 units in this building. It is close to the hospital and shopping (Beaufort Center, Westhill Plaza).

13 sold in 2007 with an average price of 230,000.
6 units sold in 2008 with an average price of $223,900

Located in the north end close to Woodgrove Mall.
The building was painted in 2008. These condos have baseboard electric heaters, in-suite laundry and patios or decks. Np pets / No rental restrictions.

4 units sold in 2006, average price $205,000.
10 units sold in 2007, average price of $197,527.
11 units sold in 2008, average price of $195,390.

This building was the former Eaton's department store converted into downtown condominiums. If you like downtown Nanaimo living this is in the heart of Nanaimo. Several have ocean view. Most if not all units have washer / dryer and dishwasher hook-ups. I sold two units in this building this year. They are fully rent able (as of Dec 2008). It seems to be a well run building with very clean and well kept common areas.

I am very familiar with this building (I sold 7 of the 13 units in 2007, average price $143,000 however the water view units sold for $40-50,000 more.

In 2008 2 units sold $145,000 and $159,900 (mountain side).

These apartment are one block from the sea wall. Facilities includes underground parking, meeting room, sauna & swirl pool. Concrete construction with a mix of ocean / partial ocean and mountain views. Very central location in Nanaimo. 47 units in the building. Built in 1991

I sold 3 units here in 2008 and they spent $86,000 on new roofing.
